LVHS DECA · Lago Vista, Texas · Breast Cancer Awareness

Small town. Big fight. Scan to join it.

CureCode is a student-run campaign from Lago Vista High School DECA. Every code we place around the North Shore sends your gift straight to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. We never touch the money.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Check bcrf.org for any current donation match.

The story so far

One campaign, written week by week

This is the Execution section of our DECA paper, happening in real time.

The story writes itself as the team logs shifts and posts updates. Check back after the first table.

Proof that every dollar reaches BCRF

How to run your CureCode table

The setup

  1. Print your code at least 4 inches wide so phones catch it from six feet.
  2. Place codes at eye level where people wait: checkout lines, the concession stand, the gym lobby.
  3. Make a code for each spot so its scans count for that spot.
  4. Ask businesses on 1431 to host a counter card.

The 15-second pitch

“Hi! We're Lago Vista DECA. One in eight women will face breast cancer, and research is winning. This code goes straight to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, the top-rated one in the country. Fifteen seconds, any amount. Most people give $25.”

Run it like a business

  • Post an update on your page every week: progress, a thank-you, and a direct ask.
  • A/B test two poster designs in the same spot, one week each.
  • Log every event the same day. Stale data is dead data.
  • When the team hits a goal, push the next one.
